I purchased a MacBook Pro last month with the OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) operating system and my HP lasertjet 1320 worked just fine. I've upgraded to OS X 10.10.1 (Yosemite) and now I can't print. When I attempt to print a document at first it appears to be spooling to the printer. The green light on the printer flashes on and off, just the way should, but rather than printing the document after about a minute the green light goes out and the amber alert light flashes and flashes. Nothing ever prints.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Hi,

Apple's done this again. Please check the following link first:

http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04473034

and the following link shows how to install new patch:

http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04510394

Good luck.

ps For the sake of us (WE, USERS) vendors (all of them) MUST work together before release their products.

Thanks for the speedy reply.

The HP LaserJet 1320 printer doesn't appear in the list of those supported in OS X v10.10 Yosemite so no full feature driver is available on the HP website.

Immediately after upgrading to Yosemite, Apple Software Update applied two  separate HP Printer Software Updates (identified as version 3.0). This link gives the details: http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201465 .  So it looks like the patch was applied, but for some reason I am unable to print.

My MacBook Pro is less than two months old and I think I qualify for free technical support from Apple, but I fully expect that their response will be "Sorry, that's an HP problem".

Have you had any luck? They just installed OSX Yosemite Ver 10.10.1 to my laptop and I can not get it to print to my HP LaserJet 1320n. Any suggestions?

I've been having exactly the same issue for the last few updates on iMac since Yosemite - I'm now on macOS Sierra 10.12.1 and the issue is still ongoing.

Tried all the suggestions above and still nothing has helped...any more ideas really welcome!

Thanks
