I should install an officejet 4255 all in one bought years ago. I have no disc and have therefore downloaded the dirver/software on internet.
It seem's that the download and "run" has gone well. I have also seen the text that the printer has been "recognised", .But nowhere on my PC I can find some trace of the printer.
All me previous printers appears (not in line, naturally) except the new one.
Then I'm asked to install it manually and I have to choose in a lists of HP-printers my one.
It's also written that if my one does not appear in the list, I have to choose one which is compatible.
The HP officejet 4255 all-in-one is not mentioned in this list and I don't know which other HP-printer could be compatible.
Someone can help me?

Sounds like you are are all having issues installing your printer. Here is a link for the drive downloads :
A note about this, though: For windows 8 you will need to use the Windows Update utility to download the MS drivers for this printer, then using a USB connection the drivers should coordinate with the printer. For Win7 and Vista, the printer should work through the PnP drivers that automatically configure when you plug the USB cable in.
If they do not, then you can follow this link for using alternate printer drivers which might give you more functionality :
Let me know if this helps you guys!
