HP m476dw

Hi,

My HP m476dw has a squeaking noise when something is printing.  It souonds like the rollers need oil.  Where can I get help with this.  The sound seemed be louder when we printed an envelope.  I'm not sure if this is because of the override tray roller or simply because the override tray was open allowing noise inside to escape.  Is this a self-fix or do I have to take that heavy printer to a shop?

Thank you,

-Alex

The squeaking is quite likely coming from a toner cartridge.

I would recommend against trying to oil any rollers in the machine you are more likely to cause a problem then to fix one.

I thought so at first too!  Then I tried and took out all the toners and closed the door, the printer continued to "initialize" without the toners and the squeaking noise continued...  seems like that "sheet" that goes under the toners, or the gears.... any help on that?

Well, after a similar simple solution at my office (different HP printer), I tried replacing the high capacity black cartridge and the squeaking stopped.
