M651
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After changing Black toner on our HP Color LaserJet M651, it has stopped printing the Black,

Replaced toner with new OEM and also tested with toner from another M651 that is working fine, and still no black.

Color tests print fine

Replaced DC Controller board with one we had in stock  and still no black

Placed electrical tape over the developer contact (as seen on another post) and received an all black page.

Anyone have any suggestions please??

Thank you

We finally got to the bottom of this. It only took 5 Tech's before we found out...Lol. Ours happened with a toner change as well and we believe the customer either lined it up wrong or used excessive force. There is a contact in the front above the toner that was bent up. If you take off the front upper cover, you can compare the slots and you'll find the black slot has the contact bent up. We bent it back down and black is now printing. Since it's been fixed, I haven't seen it to know how easy it would be spot and fix with the cover on, but consider 4 printer Tech's didn't see it.

Have you had any luck with this? We have one doing the exact same. HP support led us to replacing the laser, after trying multiple carts and a transfer belt. Issue still not resolved.

OMG Thats it!!

Thank you so much for sharing this information!!  I've had this printer on the shelf for months waiting to be a parts donor because we could not figure out the problem.

Hopefully others will benefit from this info also.
