Laser Jet Pro MFP M127fw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I tried a firmware upgrade om my Laset jet Pro M127fw over LAN.

After showing the message 'Programming' for a whlie, the printer started again.

Now keeps showing the HP en Energy star logos.

The printer is not recognised and I cabt instaal it (again)

The Device upgrade program fails.

Is there a way to reset the printer to its original firmware?

Un update on my problem:

I managed to start the 'Permanent storage initialisation' on the printer.

But the menu wont show  (Just stuck in the logos and the message Permanent storage init.)

The printer is now connected by USB and recognised by my computer.

I even got a testpage printed (although it lasted very long before it was printed)

I tried to install HP software for the printer but the installation failed (connection time-out)

I also tried DeviceUpdate (again) but this aslso failed.

I hope for a quick solution to get my printer working again.

Another update:

After the failed installation (previous post)  the printer was deleted from Windows.

I reconnected the USB and added the printer again (Win 10)

Although the menu on the printerdisplay still shows Permanent storage init. THE PRINTER WORKS!

I'm able to print from MS Word (and probably from all other apps too)

So the problem now is there is no menu on the printerdisplay to make/change settings and I can't use scan/copy software or other HP software on my computer. I also can't use the printer in my LAN.

I still hope for answers!

As I understand your HP LaserJet printer is stuck on Permanent storage init screen. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you to resolve this issue,

Please make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

Let's perform a Hard reset on the printer.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove USB cable, if present.

Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

Let me know how it goes for further assistance.

Thanks for the answers!

It dindn't work. The printer still stopped at the startdisplay.

I took it back to the shop and they would send it to HP.

Within 3 days (!) I got another printer of the same type back! And, of course ;-), it worked fine!

A big compliment for this service!

So my problem is solved!
