I have a message saying there is a paper jam, but there is no paper jam. Short of taking a screwdriver to the printer, I can't seem to fix it. I have re-booted the printer. I have pulled the power cord. There is NO paper in the feed, but it keeps saying there is a paper jam. Please help.

Could it be just a small piece of paper got stuck in there? if you are are sure that's not the case, then the sensor is broken.

these printers are crap, they work great for about 2 months, then you get the paper jam error, they steps they give you wont fix it and are just a waste of your time, take it back to the store and try to get them to let you excahnge it for another brand, I got a Kodak this time and it works great, it is kind of slow about pinting, but otherwise no problems, I had 3 hp's and they all gave the false paperjam error, I got tired of going back to the store to exchange it every 2 months

I had a similar issue. My printer only had 361 prints done before I experienced a hardware issue. Luckily it was only a couple months old and still covered under warranty so HP offered to replace it for free. I just hope I don't get another lemon. lol

I am sorry to hear that your Deskjet 3050 is giving you a "false" Paper Jam message. I would like to help you with this. If the problem is the sensor, the printer will not be able to be repaired. I have looked into this issue for you and there are a few things to try, if you haven't already.
I recommend following this document I will post. In your specific case, if there is no jam, you can skip "Solution one".
*Tip - Ensure your printer is plugged directly into the wall outlet.
If these steps do not resolve your issue, I suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see if there are any other options for you.

I have had my printer for almost 2 years and it did have a paper jam. I removed the paper jam and tried to print again but the message says to open the output tray and remove the paper jam? I tried to reset it but get the same message.
At this age for the printer would it be cheaper to get a new one or send it for repair?
