Actually you may be able to print without borders on the left and right sides since A4 paper is 8.27 inches wide and the printer is capable of 8.5 inches.  If it is possible you will need to create a custom sized paper of 8.5 inches (you may have to play with that size as between 8.3 and 8.5) and a length of 11.69 inches. You then choose the custom size and use the manual tray to print. Let us know if it works since others will want to know. Also you may have to play with the actual document settings to compensate for that 1/6 inch border area the printer wants to give. In other words you have the size of the paper as 8.xx inches but you have printable area on the document adjusted so as to eliminate the border when it prints.  Think of it as taking a letter sized sheet and cutting off 1/6 of an inch on each side and then feeding the document when you print to a letter sized sheet since those borders will not be there. I hope have explained it correctly. Good Luck.
