At the end, Iwas trying the driver wich was standard on the other printer, and it worked out... 🙂 never thought it would work out that way. thanx for your replies, problem solved!!!

That rather depends on what mechanism is used by your application to generate the QR bar-code.

Encoding data into a QR code is quite a complicated process (to do it from scratch is certainly not for the faint-hearted!).

Once all of the data code-words and error-correction code-words have been determined, the final part of the process is to convert those code-words (together with fixed elements, such as size and directional indicators) into the (usually) square 'elements' of the bar-code; in general, there are two ways to do this:

  • Generate a raster (bitmap) image.

  • Use characters within a font to represent various combinations of squares; for example, a simple font may use 16 characters to represent all of the possible combinations of a four-by-four array of squares).

When using the font mechanism, the application / printer driver would have to either refer to a printer-resident font (this will only be the case if the printer has an add-on bar-code font cartridge of some sort), or dynamically generate and download a printer-format soft font from the (donor) Windows display font.

Having said all that, the printer should be able to print what you require, so the fact that nothing (or little?) prints implies that there is a fault in what the application, in conjunction with the printer driver, is generating and sending to the printer as the print job.

'Capturing' a sample print job to a file and analysing the content of that file should tell us what mechanism is being used to represent the QR-code, and may indicate the underlying cuase of the problem.
But even then, working back from this to discover what is wrong (with application and/or printer driver) would not be straightforward, and could not be definitely determined.

... or perhaps your comment that "... the ducument is allso disappeared from the waiting que ..." implies that the application and/or printer driver is crashing when attempting to generate the print job - again, not very easy to diagnose and/or correct.

Perhaps you could try a different driver - for the LaserJet Pro M1536dnf model, on Windows 10 64-bit, it seems that you have a choice of drivers:

  • HP LaserJet Full Feature Software and Driver - this is probably a 'discrete' PCL6 driver.
  • HP LaserJet Basic Print and Scan Driver.
  • HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL6 (64-bit).
  • HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PostScript (64-bit).

Strangest thing is, when I selct another printer, we allso have a laserjet pro MFP m225dn, it just prints perfectly.

So, in this case it seems the QR-code is generated in the right way.

Which probably uses a different printer driver to the LJ 1536.
