Pages are printing with GET /DevMgmt/Discoverytree.xml HTTP/1.1

Host: xxx.x.x.x:xxxx (IP address)

This is occuring with HP LJ 2055dn!

Anyone know how to STOP this from happening to avoid wasting paper??

There's LOTS of people posting online about this problem with NO help from HP Tech support!

Common problem: using Win7 (32/64 bit) version with current driver from CD.

Installing the latest driver from HP.com does NOT resolve problem!

Any ideas??

Thank you!

Here's how I solved the problem, at least for me :generic:

- Goto Printer and select HP 2055dn (currently using "PCL6" driver)

- Right click and select "Printer properties"

- Goto "Device Settings" tab

- Goto "Installable Options" settings

  - Duplex Unit: Installed

  - Printer status notification: DISABLED THIS IS PROBABLY THE CULPRIT!!!

Press "OK" to accept!

This solved the problem, at least for me

Good luck!

I'm getting to same.

64bit machines.

Someone help.

I have 4 printers. Hard to do business with this slowing down/interupting printing.

Looks like HP's will have to go.

Yes... same for me.  I've got an HP 2605dn... and it generates the extra page, AND has lost the ability to print in color since I upgraded to Win7 64bit.  If anyone has a solution let me know, otherwise, have to get a new printer.

I feel your pain on this one - I have both problems with my 2605dn plus my J4580 all in one prints all PDFs as if they were printed using shadow font so it's practically suseless. NO help from HP at all.

Please can someone help with this Device Management error page being printed randomly. It is also slowing the printing down. I have used the universal drivers which do not work well on windows 7 32 bit.

All this help has worked to elininate unwanted pages, get the duplexer working but it lost its ability to print color. Any ideas?

The original thread comment was to get help on preventing the 2d page from printing not a color issue.

The HP 2055dn is a Black and White printer.
