Re: Where is the scan feature on the M127fm HP printer

Hi,

You have to scan from its software

Scan by using the HP Scan software (Windows)
Use the HP Scan software to initiate scanning from software on your computer. You can save the scanned
image as a file or send it to another software application.
1. Load the document on the scanner glass according to the indicators on the product.
NOTE: For best results, load small-size paper (Letter, A4, or smaller) with the long edge of the paper
along the left side of the scanner glass.
2. Click Start, and then click Programs (or All Programs in Windows XP).
3. Click HP, and then select your product.
4. Click HP Scan, select a scanning shortcut, and then adjust the settings if necessary.
5. Click Scan.

More information including for Mac: page #41 of the following manual:

Re: Where is the scan feature on the M127fm HP printer

Thank you, I finally found the solution after I went online to print out the manual as the set up instructions didn't mention that anywhere.  I also wondered why they didn't include a usb connection cord from the computer to the printer.  I have a wireless laptop but I don't think this printer is wireless, please correct me if I am wrong.

Thank you for your help and I hope this post is of assistance to other new purchasers.

Re: Where is the scan feature on the M127fm HP printer

Hi,

One reason I can think of: cost of a cable/cord. For many printers this cost is a big jump in price, up to 30% or more. I believe HP only supplies USB cord/cable for printers sold in AP (Asia Pacific) region. Your printer is not a wireless printer but it can be a network printer using normal LAN cable:

Hi-Speed USB 2.0 port; built-in Fast Ethernet 10/100Base-TX network port
