It depends on which model you have.

If it is a Colour Laserjet Pro MFP M277n, then you can only use 'manual duplexing' (provided that the application & driver support this).

If it is the M277dw model, this has a duplex unit, which makes 'automatic duplexing' possible.

However, the 'automatic discovery' feature used by some drivers on installation (or update) doesn't always work; ensure that the driver knows that a duplex unit is present on the printer (assuming that one is):

  • For the printer instance in question, bring up the Printer properties dialogue.
  • Select the Device settings tab.
  • Ensure that the duplex unit is set to Installed rather than Not installed.

You'll probably need to be logged in with administrator credentials in order to change the device settings.

But Note:  In Windows, you must go into Control Panel, Devices and Printers and edit the properties there - using the Print Properties button you'll see when you select "Print" inside of an application will not give you the tab that lets you select Automatic Duplexer Installed.

That's what I meant by "... For the printer instance in question, bring up the Printer properties dialogue ...".
