3050A J611 will not scan

It has been working (by using Preview) but now crashes every time.


I have Mac OS 10.9.2.

Download and install this:

Restart your Mac.


Reset the printing system:

- Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan
- Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
- Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Defualt tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it and then next to the "Use" pulldown, select the printer model (not AirPrint). Wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.


Try scanning from your Mac. Use Image Capture app in your Applications folder.

Click once on the scanner on the left side, then click on Show Details along the bottom. Along the right side you will see LOTS of options for scanning and saving.

This works, but it is much different than the old way which used Preview. Also there is no 'Save' button -- you just close the scan and it saves automatically.
