8600 Mac OS Scan Problem

Have just purchased 8600 Plus printer. Running latest Mac OS. Need to scan, but not getting Scan to Computer icon in HP Utility. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hmm, I'm going to wager a guess that when you installed the latest HP software you chose the default settings.  This option doesn't include the HP Scan software that must be installed in order for you to scan from the device front panel.  This would also explain why Scan to Computer isn't appearing in HP Utility.

 

Please make sure that you download and install the latest software for your product from support.hp.com.  Choose the "HP Recommended" install option. 

 

If this doesn't fix your problem please reply back and we can dig into this further.
