Application HP Device Monitor quit unexpectedly window keeps reappearing on screen

A gray window that says "Application HP Device Monitor quit unexpectedly" keeps appearing on my screen. I've tried every one of the three choices Ignore Report and Relaunch a dozen times each. I am running a Mac OS X 10.5.8 I tried downloading HP software from online and this started. I cannot find a uninstaller in any of the software I downloaded and have tried moving everything to the trash. PLEASE HELP, this is the worst!

Re: Application HP Device Monitor quit unexpectedly window keeps reappearing on screen

Hi,

I request you to perform the below step in your Mac

touch the spotlight --right side top of your Mac computer screen -- type HP Uninstall

Click on Hp Uninstaller -- click on Continue

You will see Printer listed in Uninstall window, "DO NOT CLICK ON UNINSTALL"

select the printer first and then Press and hold the COMMAND + OPTION + CONTROL key, while holding the keys click on Continue or Uninstall

Select Yes -- enter the Mac Admin Password

Once done with Uninstallation

Double click on Hard drive -- click on Library -- click on Printer -- check for HP entry, if you see any drag and drop it to Trash

Then install printer software

Regards
Justin

Re: Application HP Device Monitor quit unexpectedly window keeps reappearing on screen

Hi,

I am having the same problem with this error screen popping up every time I close it.

I'm also running OS X 10.5.8 and it began when I tried to download a driver for my new HP CM1415fnw. The good news is that the printer is working but this error message is bothersome!

I searched the spotlight for "HP uninstall" and nothing appeared.

If you can help me, please chime in!

Thanks

Re: Application HP Device Monitor quit unexpectedly window keeps reappearing on screen

I am using Mac osx 10.5.8 and cannot uninstall HP printer software.  There is no uninstaller on the Mac, not even in spotlight so instruction offered below will not work.  Please advise how I can complete a full uninstall.  Thanking you in anticipation

Re: Application HP Device Monitor quit unexpectedly window keeps reappearing on screen

Had the same problem.

This is what I did to rid of it.

Open Hard Drive

Open Library

Open Printers

Open hp

Open hpio

Delete file in this folder named HP Device Monitor

Hope that helps.

Re: Application HP Device Monitor quit unexpectedly window keeps reappearing on screen

I also do not have uninstall for hp. I tried the instructions to go into harddrive, the library, the printer folder, the hp folder, then the hpio folder and delete the hp device monitor. I get to that point and the screen comes up that says "the HP Device Monitor cannot be moved to the trash because it is open."  I have tried closing all of the programs and they seem to be closed. So what step is next?
