Brand new 24" iMac (Snow Leopard 10.6.1) and HP Photosmart C4680 "not compatible?"

Hi everyone,

I just bought my brand new 24" iMac in the beginning of September from the Apple store. They sold me the HP Photosmart C4680 with it. I've been trying to install it for almost two months now. I've called the HP tech support twice and the Apple tech support once. They keep telling me that the other needs to help me. I've gone on the HP support website and downloaded all the drivers etc. and nothing works.

The "install" works fine, but after it is completed and I am prompted to "setup" I get an error message that says: "If your device is not listed, it is not supported by this installer. Please visit www.hp.com/support to download an installer, if one is available."

Can anyone help?! I don't know what else to do ...

Did you download the proper software from here?

Next, download the latest drivers from here. 

If that does not work, delet and re-added the printer in the print queue:

- Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
- Select the printer in question and click the minus sign at the bottom of the list
- Select the plus sign and re-add it.

If this does not work, do the same thing, only instead of the second step, right (control) click the print queue area and select Reset Printing System.
