Using a C5280, I've been unable to implement wireless (Bonjour) scanning, whether from Airport Extreme or from another Mac, though printing is fine. With USB, printing and scanning is fine.
Now using OS 10.6.2, but this war true earlier, too. I've un- and re-installed the latest HP drivers several times, reset my printers, but in the Mac Printer & Fax Pref pane, only the USB device presents a PRINT and SCAN choice; the wireless connections are print-only.
I've seen that this problem has presented itself, and been corrected, with other printers, but none of the advice has not worked for me. Is the C5280 incapable of wireless scanning, or is there something wrong on my end?

Scanning is not supported through the USB port of any router, including the Airport Extreme. Sorry.
Your choices for scanning are either a direct USB connection between your Mac and the printer or a new wireless printer.

I'm disappointed, but at least I can stop my frustrating attempts. Thanks for your reply.
