Cannot Print on Mac with 10.6 Snow Leopard - Photosmart Pro B9180

Hello.  I've installed 10.6 and I cannot print. When installed it detected that I had Drivers for the B9180 on there and gave a message to say new drivers would be installed compatible with 10.6. This is the error message I get when I try to print:

"You need to install software to use this printer. To install the software, choose Software Update from the Apple Menu. If the Software for your printer isn't available in Software Update, contact the manufacturer of your printer."

So I un-installed the old drivers for 10.5 because it said the were not compatible with 10.6 on the link below and I thought that was causing the problem.

Still got the same error message.  Then I uninstalled all the HP drivers and ran the Apple Software update.  It detected I needed HP drivers and installed them. But it still doesn't work.

Anyone got any ideas?  I am going round in circles on the HP website and Google trying to figure out if 10.6 has built in drivers for the B9180.  Any suggestions gratefully appreciated.

Thanks for replying so quickly. Much appreciated. I downloaded these drivers from Apple Support but they didn't work.

I'd already seen the HP link

However, reading the HP link got me thinking about something else.  It tells you the Print Q should already be there but if its not it tells you how to add in the printer.  My printer was already there after installing 10.6 and thats how I was trying to print (using the old print Q) so I decided to delete the printer and then add it back in.

This worked!  So I can now print from 10.6. Hoorah!! I've only tried a basic page, nothing fancy and it came out OK.  I will test with some of my artwork and hopefully that will be OK.  (There is another post on here that complains about a green colour cast in prints - hope I don't get this).

Thanks once again for replying - although I'd seen the link before - looking at it again made me try something else and this worked - either way the problem is solved because of your input!
