I tried quitting set up assistant and opening it from the applications folder as suggested in support, but it is not succesfull.
I am connecting via USB.

you should've posted this in teh MAC Printing section. i think most users here are familiar with Windows OS. not sure if you'll recieve many answers here.

Thanks for the advice. i will look for th mac printing section. Problem now solved after 90 minutes with technical assistance. Had to delete all HP files, and then reinstall, and then delete and add device again.
