Hello,
I also just started with the "print first page only" problem. I am running MacOS 10.7.4 (just updated from 10.7.3). I tried rebooting my iMac, rebooted printer, deinstalled printer (but not printer software) and then reinstalled printer. All to no avail. For the record, MacOS 10.7 was installed on the iMac when I purchased it late last year, but problem only just started.
Thank you.

What router are you using?
Download and install this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907
Reset the printing system:
- Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan
- Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
- Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Defualt tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it and wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.

OK, did you do the instructions of downloading and installing the drivers and then resetting the printing system?
Was the HP software you installed specificlally maked being for 10.7? Is there HP software in your Applications folder?

I followed all of your instructions - downloaded and installed new peinter software, reset the printing system, reinstalled the 6840 - but did not see the Default tab at the top of the window. I tried to print a two page document. However, juat as before, the printer printed the first page, the queue emptied, and no second page was printed.

What happens after the first page prints, does the printer die or does the process just stop? Is there still a document in the queue?

Did you look for the "Letter Banner" as being the paper size chosen as in the posts above?
Try resetting the printer:
1. Verify that the printer is powered on.
2. Press and hold down the Report Page button.
3. While holding down the Report Page button, press the Cancel button three times.
4. Release the Report Page button.
