I'm using a MacBook Pro with latest OS and an HP C6150 All-in-On on a wireless network. Intermittently, I receive the following message when trying to use the scanner - " Sorry, scanner could not be initialized. (Scanner not found.)" I am, however, able to print and copy documents. I've resolved the problem previously by reinstalling the driver, but this is not a long-term solution.
Any help would be most welcomed. Thanks.

I believe the problems with scanning from your Mac has to do with your wireless-router assigning a different IP address to your printer than the one assigned to the printer when you installed the SW.
There are two ways to fix this. The first way is to give your printer a static IP address and then to reinstall the SW.
The second way is to get your wireless-router to reserve a DHCP address for your printer and then reinstall the SW. On many wireless-routers, this feature is known as DHCP Reservation.
There are some details to be careful about. When assigning a static IP address, make sure the address you're setting in the printer is outside the range of IP addresses that your wireless-router can assign from. Otherwise, you may end up with duplicate IP addresses on your network.
As for DHCP Reservations, you'll need to know the MAC address of the printer. You can get this from printing the printer's network configuration page.

Hi Myrrhlin
If your printer has a wireless connection to your network then you may be able to access it via your browser?
All you need is the IP addres, then you can use the WebScan tool provided by the printer's web interface... For example if my printer (an L7580) has the IP address 11.1.1.250, I type
http://11.1.1.250/
and then choose WebScan from the menu that appears. Its not a great solution but it should get you scanning until the proper solution appears...

Many wireless-routers allow you to reserve IP addresses for specific network devices. Doing so prevents the wireless-router from assigning different IP address to devices over time.
What model wireless-router do you have?

It's a linksys SRX200. Using a Mac 10.5.7, HP C6150 9.7.1 driver. Please help, you seem to be very knowledgable. Now with my last install attempt of the driver the installer won't recognize the C6150 during the network setup and entering the linksys IP address doesn't work either. Thanks.
