Re: Dropping Communications with HP C6150 All-In-One and Mac

Use the uninstaller and remove the driver.  Follow the instructions earlier in the thread to make a static address for the printer/scanner.  Reinstall the driver 9.7.1 and DON'T update using the Apple software installer.  Then try again.  It really helped me get back my scanning and when HP email support FINALLY answered after several days, I had already done the recommended steps  I found in this thread which seemed to fix the problem.  If the photosmart studio hangs, try emptying the scanner output folder to another folder on the desktop.

I don't have that menu on my 6310, so I don't get how to give it a static IP address. Can I do it through the computer's network settings?

What printer do you have?

If you have the Officejet 6310, then it does not have Wi-Fi (though it does support our Bluetooth accessory).

Yes I have an Officejet 6310.

Never connected wirelessly and am not interested in doing so, USB is fine.

It has worked flawlessly until recently. From reading these forums it seems to be a software issue, but I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times now, so I'm guessing the HP Uninstaller is leaving something behind that should be removed?
