I'm using an Officejet 6500A Plus with an iMac and Macbook Air with OS 10.6.8 Snow Leopard.
The constant low ink warnings drive me NUTS! 98% of the time when I go to print, it starts screaming at me that I have low ink. The only way it will still print is for me to click on the icon. It refers one of the color cartridges, even though I'm printing in Black. Further, low ink warnings begin when the cartridge is probably half full. I use them down to the bottom--like skipping lines.
How can I get rid of those *&^% warnings?

Hi Cristem,
The warnings are there to alert you to a possible condition that could damage the printer. When you run the printer with a low ink condition, you can dry fire the printheads and damage them to the point where the printer malfunctions.
Sometimes just clicking on the pop up message doesn't always trigger the acknowledgment in Message Center. You can open the message center and acknowledge the low ink warnings, that should make them go away until you send another print job, it will display it again when you send another print job.
You can also turn off the warnings in Message Center as well, but I really don't recommend it for the reason stated initially.
