HI,
You should try reinstalling the printerindeed, as the upgrade of the os can mess up the printer files.
Say "Thanks" by clicking the Kudos Star in the post that helped you.
Although I work for HP my posts and replies are my own

Hi,
Enter System Preferences > Print & Scan, make sure to remove any existing print queue of your printer by using the Minus sign.
Open Application/Hewllet Packard and check if the HP Installer currently exist on your Mac.
If it available, completely remove any HP software by using the Scrubber option, otherwise skip the next part:
**Please be aware that performing the next steps will remove any installed HP Software.
1. Click on Go menu (Click the desktop, then look at the menu in the bar at the top of the page)
2. Select Applications
3. Select the Hewlett-Packard folder
4. Double-click HP Uninstaller application
5. Follow the uninstallation till prompted to select a device to uninstall
6. Press and hold Control + Alt + Cmd keys on the keyboard simultaneously while you click on Uninstall
7. approve any prompt to uninstall any HP Software.
If the HP Uninstaller is not installed, manually remove the HP Folder:
1. Click on Go menu (Click the desktop, then look at the menu in the bar at the top of the page)
2. Select Computer
3. Select your active Mac OS Volume.
4. Enter the Library folder.
5. Enter the Printers Folder.
6. Remove the HP Folder to a different location for backup porpuses.
Repair the sidk permissions to prevent any issues:
1. Open the the Applications folder.
2. Go to the Utilities folder.
3. Double-click on Disk Utility.
4. Select the hard drive containing the boot volume.
5. Go to the First Aid tab and select Repair Disk Permissions.
Note: This process may take several minutes depending on the Mac and amount of permissions that need to be repaired. The Progress Log will indicate when the proccess has been completed.
Install the latest driver, as previous versions are not compatible with Lion:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL34893/
If the software been installed and fully functional, you may delete the HP Folder moved during step 6.
Please let me know of any progress,

Hi Shlomi, unfortunatly it didn't work at all... I've done it twice and still the same error happens. Is it my firmware on my printer that has bugged any connection with my computer ?

Hi,
Please try installing any HP Update:
Click the Apple Icon, then Software Update.
Click show details and verify that any available Software Update is selected.
Then check and let me know of any change within the error message.
It does not seems as firmware related.
As you mentioned, the error began while the OS has been updated,
The message indicates an error with the software files, there isn't any indication to the connectivity with the printer.
Please clarify during what step you recieve the error message (e.g when printing, when opening the HP Utility, etc.)

Hi Shlomi,
I've tryied all of the above and nothing seems to work... and I seem to have a bigger problem.
My Attention and Ready lights are both 'ON', i've tryied to update my firmware and it seem's that
I have bricked my printer...
I've called HP service and nobody could help me this afternoon. Is there a software that I could use to
bring back my printer to life ?
Thanks
Dominic

Hi Dominic,
The specific light pattern indicates a fatal error of the product.
Try resetting the printer as following
- Press the Power button to turn off the product.
- Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product.
- Wait 30 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the product.
- Press the Power button to turn on the product.
- Wait for the product to start up before proceeding
If the issue remains with no change, servicing the product will be the only solution. I believe your product is still under warranty.
Please contact HP Service once again.
For your refference, below is an official knowledge document indicating the required steps for the specific issue:
