F2480: MacOSX Tiger doesn't list it in the devices list (scanner). [ Edited ]

Hello,

today I installed a F2480 all in one printer on my home iMac.

It prints fine, but I can not able to scan.

When I open HP Scan application, it starts to search for a device but doesn't find it and continues to search until I press stop.

I try to upgrade the drivers but the HP program says "it is update"!

My configuration:

- iMac Intel, MacOSX 10.4.11,  HP Scan 2.0.21 (5)

Is there any way to solve this problem?

Solved.

The problem was that the admin user was corrupted. I create a new user with admin privileges and the scan works fine.

I'm having the same problem on a MacOS 10.6.2: the printer works fine but no scanning device is being detected.

Can anybody help me?

I tried creating a new account with admin privileges, but it makes no difference.

Hello,

You have snow leopard, 10.6.x. 

There is a topic about 10.6.

You have to scan from Preview App.

Problem just solved.

For some mysterious reason, Imagecapture detects the Hp scanner.

Weird....

Anyway it works! And it's easy
