Re: F4580 scanner can't be found

What operating system?

How is the printer connected?

Where did you get the HP software?

Re: F4580 scanner can't be found

Download and install the software for your printer from here.  It will create a Hewlett-Pacard folder in your Applications folder.

In there you will see Device Manager, ScanPro or HP Solution Center.  Use whatever one you have to scan with.

Hi, I have got exactly the same problem. I am currently running OS x 10.7.3 on a MBP 2011 and DJ_AIO_06_F4500_USW_Full_Mac_WW_105.dmg installed

Re: F4580 scanner can't be found

Download and install this: support.apple.com/kb/DL907

Reset the printing system:

- Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan
- Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
- Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Defualt tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it and wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.

Re: F4580 scanner can't be found

I tried this with OSX for an HP 6310 and I can't scan. The "Scan" button is greyed out. The printer says it can't find my computer, but I can print with no problem. Help!

Re: F4580 scanner can't be found

Also, my printer is on a network (ethernet) but I also tried to use the ethernet cable directly to the iMac and it didn't work.
