I have a L7555 All-in-One which I purchased from Apple along with my iMac a few months ago. It came with OS X 10.5 and all was well. I could use the scan button on the printer, and Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 could recognize the printer and scan (via TWAIN?) directly into a pdf. Then I foolishly upgraded to SL (should have waited for 10.6.2). Since my printer is supposedly natively supported in 10.6, I did as recommended, deleted the printer software, deleted and then recreated the print queue. I can print ok, but scanning is another issue. I can scan into Preview, but Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 no longer see's any installed printer (not sure if this is a print driver or Acrobat issue) so I can no longer scan documents into a pdf within that application (which I used quite extensively). Also, the scan button on the printer no longer works.
Here is my question to HP Support. Will this be the extent of support in 10.6 for your printers or is HP working on eventually releasing more complete and functional drivers? I appreciate the work HP did with Apple to at least keep some minimal level of support, but I need to have the same level of print/scan functionality in SL that I had in Leopard.
