First an observation - it is extremely difficult to actually find a link to register a complaint so hear I am trying another route.
I have been a HP owner since 2005 - have two printers at home incl a HP2600n which I bought in 2007 so that my home had a wireless network printer. It was expensive but I felt it was worth it, even though it takes 4 cartridges at $100+ each. Since then we have gradated to a complete Mac/Apple hardware platform, with an iMac and three macbook pros. The 2600n printer driver was upgraded some time back the 2600n and has lost the following functions with the HP/Apple update based on my normal use. Note that all of these were functioning prior to update.
1. Double sided printing not selectable; no double sided printing available
2. Cannot print 2 pages on a single sheet in draft; result is a print that is unreadable
When I tried to send this feedback to HP about a year back they apologized and advised me that their driver no longer suppported Macs! So it seems HP is out of touch with reality, and certainly dont care for the impact on customer loyalty. Of course that means that I will vote with my feet and get new printers which are certainly not going to be HP because:
- I need Mac supported printer software
- their is no cost justification to keep buying expensive HP supplies for an expensive printer which cannot duplex print as a minimum.
Good luck HP, and I am not looking back.

We are having the same problem at work. We have seven HP printers that we will not be replacing with the HP brand due to this issue.

Hello,
The Two-Sided feature reffer to Automatic Two Sided Printing.
As the specific device provide manual duplexing only you may perform manual duplexing as following:
In order to perform manual duplexing, you shouls use the Pages to Print setting, as you may find listed below:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docnam
As well, another alternative is to use the HP Two-Sided Printing Software:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL35975/
you can access this tool by clicking the PDF button at the bottom of the print dialog, then select Two-Sided Printing and follow the on-screen instructions.
Draft printing will reduce the print quality.. this is the intention of this feature. it may be more visible for half size print, however it might still have possible seeps to improve it. it may help to know you Mac OS X version.
Regards,
Shlomi
