HP 4S scanner

I have just "Aquired" a 4S scanner and of course despite all promises it came without any power pack!!

 

Now is there a spare listed because if there is I am unable to find it myself?? And will this item work as a standalone scanner??

 

If the answer is no anyone know of a good charity who MAY be able to use this item :-)
