I got a new MAC computer a few months ago (OS 10.7.3) but have kept my old PC system running alongside, and had my HP 7700-series Photosmart printer hooked up to that.
Today, I tried to hook up my printer to the MAC, without success. I tried to follow the directions given on the HP website for MAC 10.6 and 10.7 operating systems - i.e. check for software updates - but get a message reading: "Your software is up to date. Software Update doesn’t have any new software for your computer at this time."
Any HP printer drivers I have been able to download fail to install, with a message indicating that this is because "PowerPC applications are no longer supported."
Am I missing something ..... or am I stuck with buying a new printer?

Please let me know the printer you are using HP Photosmart 7510 series or please provide me the six digit apha numeric code
and how the printer is connected to Mac, via USB or wireless.

Hi
Make sure that printer is connected to Mac OS 10.7
click on the below web link and then click on Download
http://support.apple.com/kb/dl907
Once download is complete , please click on Install printer software in Mac OS 10.7
NOTE: Make sure that printer is power ON

Thanks Justin, that seems to have done the trick!
I have a further question now, however ..... I just did a test printing, and find that this driver does not seem to give the same printing options as I had available when running the printer on my PC. I cannot see any commands for selecting print quality (Fast Drft, Fast Normal, Normal, etc.), nor for minimizing margins, and so on. Is that flexibility lost when "patching in" to my MAC?

Sorry ..... I have now figured out how to manage the sizing and print quality options! Rather different from using the printer with the PC driver, but should be able to get up to speed with the new commands quite easily!
Again, thanks for the help!
