I am setting up the HP8600 Officejet Premium and I am having difficulty setting up the Network Folder Setup. I am following the steps but to keep getting the message it is an invalid share when entering the MacBook Pro IP address. If I take the IP address out and enter the name I receive a connection failed message. Can someone please help me figure this out?
I am upgrading from the previous model HP8500 to the following model. Unfortunately I had problems with the Network Folder using the 8500 after I had it for 2 years and HP suggested to upgrade to the newer model.

Thank You so much!! You helped me resolve my problem. I had been following all of the steps but clicking on the read and write by the username(s). I corrected this option on all users and it resolved the problem.

Hello,
I too am running 10.6.8, and I've done everything as described in the solution, but I keep getting an error message that says "No write permission". As far as I can tell, all of my permissions are set up correctly (read & write). Any thoughts?
Thanks.

Hi,
I do not have an option for "bonjour" when I open safari as instructed. Is there another way to access that setting?

Hi,
If the pritner connected to the same network and cannot be detected as Bonjour, it means the router may not support the essential network protocols as Multicasting or may outdated, not configured correctly, etc.
In order to better understand the reason, please clarify your router brand and model.
Additionally, is your printer model is 8600 Premium as discussed or any differnt model?

Make sure in Safari Preferences under the Bookmark Tab that Bonjour is checked to Include Bonjour in Bookmarks Menu, Bar and Collections. Once clicked on this the option it is available to select Bonjour when you follow the steps as provided earlier. It resolved mine when Bonjour didn't show. Hope it helps.
