HP C4580 scan button not working with Snow Leopard

Ever since I upgraded to Snow Leopard, the scan button no longer works. I know it has to do with Snow Leopard (especially since HP said so on their site) however, do you think HP will come out with a fix for it? or has anyone found a work around? i just bought this printer/scanner a few months ago and will be quite upset if this functionality no longer works....

Yeah, the scan button on the printer is not working yet, but you can scan from Preview or Image Capture.

Thanks for the response. So does this mean they are working on a fix so the button will work with Snow Leopard?

Hi,

Download and install the C4580 HP 10.6 software here   You'll have HP Scan and that should enable the front panel scan button.

Thanks for the info! However is there a way to link the scanner button to the scan software instead of it scanning it straight to preview when the scan button is pressed?

I recommend to not use the Scan button, but start Scans using Preview or Image Capture (I prefer Image Capture).
