HP C5280 won't scan on OA X 10.6.8

I've tried the HP Uninstall and removing and adding the C5280 - OS X 10.6.8 dosn't seem to have the scan option in Sys Pref that displays from Lion show.  Not sure I can or want to install Lion.

Also, now there is nolonger an HP Uninstall executable.

Then, download and install this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907

Finally, Reset the printing system:

- Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan
- Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
- Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Defualt tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it and wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.

Now the scan option should appear in Sys Prefs.  Or, even easier, use Image Capture in your Applications folder.
