Re: I CAN SCAN !!!

From what I understand, when Snow Leopard is installed, it virtually lays on top to the existing OS.  So not only could I not scan anything, but there were other functions of Snow Leopard that were not working properly....

So I did a "clean install." I wiped my HD, after backing it up on Time Machine of course, and installed SL again.  And so far, so good!  SL has been working like a dream.  It just takes time to restore my "stuff" back on to my Macbook.....

Re: I CAN SCAN !!!

i can print from my F380 from day one I installed SL, but I can't scan.

I tried using image capture as suggested, it displayed the same (or similar) message as HP Scan .... "no device found or connected" along the line.

Could someone be kind enough to give me a few pointers ..... please.

thank you

Re: I CAN SCAN !!!

Did you installed the full feature software?

If not, please download and intall the softwre:

htftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software10/COL30237/mp-75101-1/HP_Installer_Inkjet_Full_Group07_10.3.dmg

By reading the thread, i have noticed the provided drivers are for print only, as the thread is very old.

Re: I CAN SCAN !!!

That link doesn't work.

I can't scan using my F380 on an imac with Snow Leopard. I have installed the new snow leopard updates and the HP drivers.

Wont scan in image capture either.

Re: I CAN SCAN !!!

BTW I've also tried everything else on this thread. Resetting printing system etc. Still wont scan. Prints fine.

Just says "trying to open scanner session" and then "failed to open session on device"

The F380 is plugged in directly to the imac via USB. It worked fine before Snow Leopard and has never scanned since.

Re: I CAN SCAN !!!

Please try checking for updates:

Apple Menu > Check for software updates

Make sure to install any HP update and reboot your Mac.

Now try scanning both by using the HP scan application and the Image Capture.

Please let me know if there was any difference after the update, as well if you may see any difference between the different scan software
