Hello
Does anybody have any solution for the printing problem of HP DJ 1022 in Snow Leopard?
(Prints only page 1 of severals).
I have 10 (!) 1022s in my school. I fear to have to throw away them all.
Definitively: This will be the last HP-devices I purchased.
Thanks for every Answer.

Hello Peter_3B,
please run software update on MacOS.
After updating to MacOS 10.6.4 an "update for HP printer drivers" should be offered.
Please install also this update. It should solve the issue.
If the HP printer drivers update will not be offered automatically please download and isntall the driver package from Apple website:
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907
Please come back with feedback.
With Regards. FrK

Hello MacFrk
Thank you for your reply.
I had installed the HP-Printer-Package bevor, but this did not fix the problem. After your suggestion, i tried again, but first removed (manually) all HP-printing software from Library/Printers. No effect.
On one machine, I could now select the Gutenprint-driver (v5.2.3) and this system (iMac with OS 10.6 and HP LW 1022) seems to print without problems - for 2 days (!).
I am not sure if this will continue, since the printing problem was not constantly (I made a lot of changes and attempts to solve the problem) and not not the same on all systems. Sometimes it worked - sometimes not.
It seems to be important not to have two identical drivers installed (e.g. "HP-Laserjet 1022" and "HP Laserjet 1022-1" in the printer-chooser.
I think the Gutenprint drivers are the solution, but the installation is sometimes tricky and the effect is not the same on every system. I have not yet finished my work for the 10 1022's.
Regards
Peter

That Apple driver download (nearly 500 mb!) does not fix the problem. No difference whatsoever, unless I need to take more actions than simply installing the package. Only 1st page of docs printing and the print job does not leave the print queue, it merely makes the printing app crash, so I have to delete the job manually from the print queue, turn the printer off and on again. If HP are not able to support Mac OS 10, why did it not say so on the box, so I could buy something else?

I've had the same problem the Laserjet 1022 and OS X 10.6. Printer would print alternate pages only and then show error light.
HP wouldn't help without me purchasing a care package. Eventually someone emailed me a link to an Apple page where I could download the correct driver but this didn't work either.
Eventually I downloaded the Gutenburg drivers from their site and now everything works perfectly.
Next printer I purchase will be a different brand.
