HP Photosmart 5510 e-All-in-One

[ Edited ]

Hi, few days ago i bought this device: HP Photosmart 5510 e-All-in-One. I have installed it on my home desktop with Windows XP. I set up ePrint, wireless printing etc. Everything working fine. Then a tried to set up the device on my Macbook Air with actual OS X 10.7.3. I was unable to add the device through Bonjour, so i add it directly by IP adress. Print function working well but i'm unable to scan (scan if connected by USB cable is working). I tried forced uninstall with complete HP software remove, i configured the router, dowloaded drivers etc., but without success. Its my primary problem, but i have issue with my Iphone 4 S too. I'm unable to print with AirPrint, however the printer support it. I'm ussing Zyxel NBG-417N router. From desktop i connect to router through ethernet cabel, from notebook through Wi-Fi. Thanks for advance.

Re: HP Photosmart 5510 e-All-in-One

Hi,

As both Airprint and Mac OS X uses Bonjour, i believe the issue might have something to do with your router Multicast setting.

As you mentioned, you configured the router, however it is not clear which confoguration you were reggering to.

Please try the following router settings and then check for any change.

(As I located the settings by the user manual, the settings may vary due to a different firmware version of the router, but i believe it should be similar)

  1. Enter the router administration.
  2. Enter Network > WAN > Advanced.
  3. Check the Multicast option.
(I could not locate any refference to the IGMP version setting.. If you can see any refference on this screen, set IGMPv2)
  4. Click Apply to save the changes.
  5. Reboot the router and check for any change.

If the issue persists, i would recommend yo to contact your ISP or Zyxel support.

Hope it helps,

Shlomi
