HP Photosmart 5514 connection refused issue while installing to print queue in Mac Lion

I have user that has a Mac book pro with Lion. I have installed the latest HP printer software and when I get to the point of installing to the Print Queue it indicates an error that the connection was refused. I did not have any issues when installing to my mac pro(Lion)and window to the same printer. Is there setting I need to change on the users mac pro? or do I have another going on in the back ground I need to try to troubleshoot? Help Anyone Thanksphotosmartconnection refused.jpg

Re: HP Photosmart 5514 connection refused issue while installing to print queue in Mac Lion

Hi,

Please provide the following information to better narrow down the problem:

(Assuming this is a wireless connection, correct me if I am wrong)

Security type (WEP, WPA, WPA2 // AES, TKIP) ?

Router Make and Model?

Installed from cd, hp.com download, or Apple Update?

When clicking the "+" in Print & Scan, does the printer show up in the list?

Is the printer already connected to the network (either by USB Setup of Wireless, or Front Panel Setup of Wireless)?

Thanks!

Re: HP Photosmart 5514 connection refused issue while installing to print queue in Mac Lion

I was to set up another macbook pro and windows pc to the printer. The pc was connected through ethernet and macbrook pro was on wifi. The users mac book pro was on the same wifi as my macbook pro (wpa) it sees the printer and driver but it refuses the connection. She is has. Newer netgear router.
