Sure that might work (for a while). But scanning pages to a single JPEG isn't why I bought a scanner with a document feeder and the advertised ability to scan to multi page PDF...
Glad you're happy with your round about method for getting a JPEG.
I'm very happy with my new Canon Pixma MX860...the setup routine was wierd, but once setup, it works perfectly every time I want to scan copy or print (and in duplex as well).
I was also very pleasantly surprised to find the photo quality was even better than the HP (Not bad for a 4 colour printer).

Solved! I now can scan wirelessly throughout my network. I downloaded the drivers for a friends newer HP all-in-one scanner and I can scan. Look for the driver for the 309a series of printers and install it. Complete the install and set up your existing printer. You can now scan, print, fax wirelessly. It includes updated HP apps for these functions that work with OS 10.5. I didn't upgrade to the HP 1.1 drivers through Apple. The file name is: PS_AIO_05_C309a_Net_Full_Mac_WW_102.dmg
