Sweet.  Sorry, I thought I had found all of the FW patches that didn't have Mac solutions.  Try the patch and then let me know how it goes.

cool.  I found a windows 7 service pack.  installing it now

Have you tried running it anyway? Have the printer set up with a USB with a basic driver in the Win 7 OS and run the FW update.

yeah nothing happeneing.  it would not let me install the update.  said I did not have a registry key.  not printing.

Well, I am out of ideas.  Let me try and get a Windows person over here to see if there is something they can do.

ok.  in the meantime i am reinstalling drivers and software on windows side.  I will let you know

still unresponsive on the mac. however, with my old plug out/plug in method I did get it to print after re installing every thing on the windows side.

Try following the steps below and check if that helps:

Save the firmware posted above on your desktop.

Right click the file and click Troubleshoot Compatibility problems.

Select the 2nd option to manually resolve the problem.

Select the first option (The program worked on previous Windows version) and click Next.

Select Windows XP SP3 from the list and click next.

Click 'Launch the Program' and follow the steps.
