HP Photosmart C4680 Scanning problems with Snow Leopard

Okay, I did every thing you said, but when I open image capture it says, " failed to open a session on the device."

DID you ever have the HP software on your Mac prior to upgrading to Snow Leopard?  If so how did you uninstall it?

Yes and I uninstalled it by following the directions on this forum.

I still haven't received a reply. Does that mean you can't help out with my situation? If you can't, let me know so I can go buy a new printer. That isn't what I want to do, but I really need my scanner to be working.

It looks like HP didn't ever make a patch for the Snow Leopard OS, so the scanner doesn't work anymore. I'm going to go back to the previous Mac OS and start looking for a new (non HP) scanner.

HP printers and scanners are garbage. I'm having the same issues. Can't scan on my mac with this piece of garbage HP scanner.. 

I'm going to leave this on my driveway and hope someone takes it. I would feel guilty selling it to someone.
