Hi,
Product name: Photosmart D110a
OS: Mac OSX 10.8 fully updated
error message: Printer is not connected, but accesible via web browser.
I recently bought a HP Photosmart D110a printer, I`m using a MAcbook Pro OSX 10.8 (fully updated).
From the MAcbook in some few ocassions it prints but most of the times it doesnt work.
I get an error saying (The printer is not connected)
I can ALWAYS acces the printer via the web browser (even when i get the not connected printer error),
I can even scan using the webscan utility
I tried setting a Automatic and a manual IP, but it doesnt make any difference.
I tried enabling and disabling the firewall but Nope any difference.
I have fully updated the firmware of the printer.
I tried removing the printer and configuring it back but nope, any difference.
If i print the Network config test, it says everything is OK
Self test page also says everything is OK.
PLEASE HELP, I DONT HAVE ANY IDEA HOW TO SOLVE THIS.
MY WORKAROUND HAS BEEN PRINTING SENDING MAIL TO XXXX@hpeprint.com, BUT ..... I WOULD LIKE MY PRINTER TO WORK AS IT SHOULD. IT SEEMS TO BE AN OS PROBLEM BUT I CANT FIND INFO ON HOW TO FIX IT.
Details of the printer:
Product Name HP Photosmart D110a
Product Model Number CN731A
Firmware Version TUL1FN1151AR
Total Page Count 68
Country/Region Latin America

Hi,
By your description I assume the issue more likely related with the network.
Any Mac OS uses Apple's Bonjour service to communicate with the device, which should also be supported by the router.
Some routers may not support Bonjour, may have the support for it enabled by the default configuration or might be improved by updating the router firmware.
Please clarify your router brand and model, if you may also locate the current firmware version it may helps.
Regards,
Shlomi

Thanks for your fast response.
I have a HUAWEI Router HG530
I dont see any Bonjour option on the router, so should i disable Bonjour on the printer?

Hi,
Disabling Bonjour will not help, as Mac OS relies on Bonjour it should be supported by either the Mac, printer and the router.
Disabling Bonjour will not resolve the issue..
You may bypass the issue for printing by adding a printer - under the IP port select the HP Jetdirect Socket and provide the IP address of the printer, however it will not resolve the scan problem.
According the following thread for the Huawei HG532 (I assume it should provide the same functionality) the router seems not to support Bonjour, however I would recommend you to contact your router service provider and verify its compatibility.

Shlomi
