I have a photosmart C4280 all in one printer and a macbook pro operating on tiger (Mac OS X 10.4.11).
My scanner has worked seamlessly as recently as a few hours ago, but now HP Scan Pro (the application that I use to scan) crashes as soon as I open it. When I hit the scan button on the printer itself an error comes up saying that the USB is not connected. I tried restarting my computer but still no luck.
Any suggestions?

Yes, I did try a different USB. Last week I uninstalled and reinstalled the software and it seemed to fix the problem, but it has now come back. I tried to uninstall again but the "uninstall" button on the uninstaller will not work. I posted a new question further outlining the problem, because it has extended to my CS3 applications.
