HP Utility app crashing when I attempt to change the Scan to Comp settings. Help? OSX Lion [ Edited ]

I got on chat with an HP tech, and we tried various things, such as, remove all printer drivers, verify/repair disk permissions, restart comp, uninstall/install software, YET STILL the problem remains, the only solution was to wait for a new software update... womp womp. >:\

Details: Im trying to change the settings of the "Scan to Comp" shortcuts, specifically in the "Scan Tasks" tab> Document to file, thus, im unable to customize the settings. See pic below.

Its also worthy to metion that I downloaded the HP software "Photosmart-5510-series_v12.14.0.dmg" and once i encountered the crash, i uninstalled, and redownloaded the software just to be safe, but still the same problem.

The issue is known and currently being investigated..

Unfortunately there is not much to do than waiting for a patch to resolve the issue.. it should be available soon as much as I aware..  Make sure to follow the Download pages for any available patch, hopefully in the next weeks.

just want to let you know that HP has released a software patch that solves the issue with HP Utility crashing. You can find it here: Critical Update to fix Scan to Computer issue on Mac OS X v10.7

Please note that it will update your HP Scan application with a new layout as well.
