HP iPrint App for iPad sees printer, but not scanner

My WiFi iPad has the HP iPrint App installed.

I can see the printer (HP F4580, All In One) and print, but the iPad app doesn't see the scanner (which is the same device).

Any clues?

Thanks!

Yup, the iPrint app is just that - for printing.  It will not scan.

Thanks! I guess they didn't bother telling the graphics designers who set up the app...and put in a very pretty icon of a scanner :smileyhappy:

[ Edited ]

Are you sure it can't scan? The people that make the App seem to think it can!

New with HP iPrint Photo 3.0

  • Print PDF and text documents
  • Enhanced iPad viewing and use
  • Scan photos and documents wirelessly from HP e-All-in-One printers to iOS devices
  • Print email attachments (PDF and TEXT files) via Document Support feature
  • File Transfer from PC or Mac wirelessly or via USB cable

That is from http://h41112.www4.hp.com/mobileapps/hp-iprint30-ios.html

Re: HP iPrint App for iPad sees printer, but not scanner

I've got the same problem with my iPhone with this app.  It sees my printer but not the scanner, and it's the same device -- Photosmart Premium C309g.  And, yes, the app says that it's supposed to scan....................

Re: HP iPrint App for iPad sees printer, but not scanner

Like it says above "Scan photos and documents wirelessly from HP e-All-in-One printers to iOS devices".

The C309g is not an e-printer.

Re: HP iPrint App for iPad sees printer, but not scanner

Thanks for the information, PrintDoc.  You seem pretty knowledgeable regarding the Photosmart Premium C309g; so maybe you can help me with the other problem that I'm having with the SCAN preview display.  Here's the link to my post:

Hope you can help shed some light on this for me.  Thanks..................4t9rs (Paulette)

Re: HP iPrint App for iPad sees printer, but not scanner

I have this same problem with my 8500a / 910a, it will print using iPrint and HP's ePrint app but the ePrint app will not recognize the scanner from my iPad. (I can wirelessly scan and print from my notebook computer.)

Restart your router by pulling its power plug momentarily.
