I am trying to use my Imac with OS 10.5.8 and my Airport Extreme Base Station to print with my HP Officejet 6110 using the usb port on the airport base station. I get a "printer is currently off-line." status in my print que window. My Airport base station is also used for dialup internet connections. Does anyone know what might be going wrong ? Thanks ahead for any help. Mgmfan.

Did it ever work? Restart the Airport by pulling its power cord momentarily.
Next, reset the printing system:
- Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan
- Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
- Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Defualt tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it and wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.
Dial-up? Really? I did not know the Airport could do that.
Say "Thanks" by clicking the Kudos star in the post that helped you.

Provost,
Thanks for the help. I did the dance a little different than suggested and it works fine now.
I shut the printer down. Reset the printing system as suggested but left the airport on. I turned the printer on while airport looked for printers. When it found the printer I did the add step. the printing works ok so far.
The Airport info is here--
Use AirPort to provide wireless Internet access and share a single Internet connection
among multiple computers in the following ways:
•
Connect the AirPort Extreme Base Station to a DSL or cable modem. If the base
station has an internal modem, you can connect it to a telephone line. The AirPort
Extreme Base Station receives webpages and email content from the Internet via its
Internet connection and then sends it to AirPort-equipped computers, using the
wireless network.
•
Connect the AirPort Extreme Base Station to an existing network that already has
Internet access, such as in a school or small office. AirPort-equipped computers
connect wirelessly to the base station and receive network and Internet content.
I use an airport express to play my music files with Itunes from the computer to airport , to airport express and then to my Bose unit. That works quite well also.
Thanks again for your help,
mgmfan
