Hello Cobright,
Looks like you have two separate issues. I'll try to address each.
>> When I chose "automatic charger" and " make an unique document PDF" Preview software just quit
There is a bug that has been reported to Apple regarding crashes resulting from the combination of Document Feeder mode and PDF Format scan settings. I expect that Preview quit because you attempted to scan using this combination of settings.
One option I think you might want to try is to start your scanning from Apple's Image Capture application (it's in the Applications folder). Choose Document Feeder mode, but choose TIFF or JPEG as the file Format. In the "Scan To" popup menu, choose "Other" and then browse to, and select, the location of your Acrobat Pro application. If this works as I would anticipate, Acrobat Pro should launch with the scanned images once the scanning has completed.
>> When I use Acrobat 9 pro CS4 to create a document from the scanner : there is no scanning device Available
The HP scan drivers supplied in Snow Leopard do not provide a TWAIN interface. I expect that this is why you don't see any HP devices listed. Please keep an eye out for HP's release of additional Snow Leopard compatible software for your device. TWAIN scanning is supported in the forthcoming release.
( Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP. )

I am happy to report that as of this morning (9/11/09) I now have my 5610 HP all-in-one running. I did the software update last night (iTunes mostly, but I think there were other things there too) and then HP/Apple must have posted new drivers at some point in the last 24 hours because when I tried adding a printer again - the download started and didn't give me a "software not available" error. Then updated the printer choices -- AND...printed just fine! Whew.
As to scanning - I am using Preview and it is working well. Actually in some ways better than ScanPro did.
Thanks for all of the answers, etc. - hope this makes some people happy. Just try your "add printers" again today.

Hello Barry
Your method works fine except that I have multiple page documents to scan ( 20 pages ... 50 pages or more ) . If I use the method you describe I have 20 to 50 acrobat windows opened ... not only one acrobat document with 20 - 50 pages ....
I will wait for Twain stuff before switching to SL ...there is too many manual operation to do ( assemble each pict in an Acrobat file then do OCR stuff .... everything is automatic with LEopard .
This is too many bugs and lack of fo functionality for me at this stage ...
( HP/APPLE if you read these lines , I'm sorry but this is not professional at all )
Thank you for your help
All the best
Jean Luc

I am having the same issues, plus the printing function does not work well. I have two other Macs that I have not upgraded that work perfectly, so it appears to be the drivers with the new OS.
I have slashes printed at the end of every line, just outside the far right margin. Pages, Numbers, Word, Excel, all the programs do this. It makes the printer unusable for all but draft documents. HP is of no help, Apple points to HP, HP points to Apple. Nice.
The new Mac OS 10.6.1 upgrade did not help this issue.
HP Photosmart C7280. Driver 4.0
Does anybody have a suggestion? I am close to buying a new printer and it will not be an HP...

I found a good link on the HP site to fix my Photosmart C7250 after upgrading to Snow Leopard: <http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docn
None of the scan functions can be initiated from the printer or HP Utility now. It has to be done from the Mac. The key part that solved my problem printing and scanning was:
Important Gotcha: If the Scan or Print icons do not appear in the Printer Browser window toolbar, you need to delete the current HP printer queue and add a new one, as follows:
- Close the Printer Browser window to return to the Print & Fax preference pane. Or, go directly to the System Preferences > Print & Fax pane.
- Select your HP printer in the list on the left.
- Click the - sign at the bottom of the list to delete the product from the list.
- Click the + sign at the bottom of the list to add the product back to the list.
- Select your HP printer, and then click Add to create a new print queue. The next time you open the Printer Browser window, the Print and Scan icons should appear in the toolbar, providing access to Image Capture.

Hello,
I just got my Color LaserJet 2600n working with 10.6 Snow Leopard:
1- download and install the 2600n driver from here: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software8/COL15113/ly
2- Then go to the prefs panel under printers and fax.
3- Select the printer on the list and click the add button ("+"). The system will select the just installed driver.
4- You can now use your printer. Enjoy! :-)

I am so furious right now I can't even see straight... my LaserJet 3055 AIO is newer than my iMac, yet it's become a paperweight on my newly updated Snow Leopard 10.6.3 operating system. Prior to this I was running Leopard 10.5.8, without any problems whatsoever.
After spending the better part of a day troubleshooting, I was finally able to get my 3055 (connected via USB) to print. Using the tips in this forum, I eventually uninstalled all HP software on the iMac (some of it manually), and then afterwards attempted to install the printer. I was then prompted to download the HP drivers via Software Update. Did that, and now the printer works. For printing, but not for scanning.
I tried a number of different options, but ultimately followed the instrux to re-download the HP AIO software/drivers (version 8.2, the most recent) and run the installer. It ran fine (except with a ktext error -- which I was told to ignore), and then I ran HP Setup Assistant, but it cannot / will not "see" the USB-connected 3055... even though the 3055 itself is physically connected and shows up properly in the printer queue.
Someone on one of these forums posted a link to a wiki site that suggested I install a "second set of USB drivers" for the printer, since the scanning tools need the USB drivers to scan (can't via bonjour). Yet I've been unable to determine exactly what that instruction means... I've redownloaded -- manually -- the HP printer drivers from Apple and run the package installer; I've also re-downloaded the HP AIO software/drivers, but I cannot get past this blasted hurdle.
I refuse to simply just give up on this machine and spend another $500 on a good quality AIO because HP doesn't seem to give a [text removed] about us customers at times... but I'm reaching my wits' end. If I can't find a way to solve this problem, I will never purchase another HP-branded product in my life, whether personally or for my business. I have another AIO made by Brother that performs flawlessly, but it runs at a separate office location and I can't use it for this particular set up.
One more thing... I am no longer able to access the HP embedded web server in the printer -- the "utility" button no longer appears anywhere; neither in the Print and Fax tool nor the printer queue itself. In fact, there is no longer any utility to manage this printer at all from the computer (e.g. change name, settings, etc.)
Any other suggestions on how to get the setup utility to actually "see" the 3055 scanner? Or for installing a printer utility so I can access the embedded web browser?
AArgh!
