Hanging printer when Mac OS X Lion printing on HP Photosmart B110

My B110 printer (brand new) prints fine wirelessly via iPod and iPad. Hasslefree.

But when printing via both my MacBooks (Pro and Air) the printer hangs always when printing photos.

This happens with the original ink cartridges that came with the printer, and now also with the original HP new cartridges.

This occurs at the last 5%-10% of the photos (I normally do at 10x15 cm format) and a turn-off/turn-on action is required.

In my perception this is now only occurring since the driver update (Oct 27 2011, version 2.8). I cannot seem to solve it myself.

Can you help?
