I have a psc 2175 aill in one that started saying SANNER FAILURE TURN OFF AND TURE BACK ON. I turn it off and restart it. When it comes on the scanner light moves about a half an inch and then goes back to it position and starts making a clicking noise. All light begin flashing and SCANNER FAILURE again. Can someone please help me. It was working fine. I hace not changed anything on my computer.
It did this before 8 months ago, but it hasn't done it until now.

Can you make a copy from the front of the printer? If so, the scanner is OK. If not, it is dead.

No, its not worth fixing (it will cost more than a new printer) and its dead. Sorry.

I have the same problem on my 2179, does this mean I can't print now as I don't need the scanner?

You should be able to print even with a broken scanner. You may not be able to make a copy, but printing should work from a computer.

Hi. You say "You should be able to print even with a broken scanner. You may not be able to make a copy, but printing should work from a computer."
Is this true with psc2510? Mine makes the click noise and then stops without "booting" to ready state. It is a pitty, because it is wireless, and has a great card reader. How can I disable the scanner -if possible- to work with the printer and card reader?
Thank you.

I think it is true with any all-in-one, but it has to successfully boot. I don't know of an easy way to diasble the scannter, sorry.
