I can no longer scan to officejet j5780

I can no longer scan to officejet j5780 after installing Mac Lion software update despite ' built in drivers ' Is there any help or do I have to throw the machine away ??

Hi,

Please make sure you are scanning in any of the methods below:

If any error appear during the scan, please clarify any error or behavior you may see.

Additioanlly, Note that scanning from the front panel is not supported for Lion.

Sorry not good on tech stuff : I simply (used ) to go to HP icon on desktop and select 'scan to ...' as it's a 3-in-1 but now it says Scanner could not be found or similar. Thanks

I now realise that was a link to follow, which I did, and although the process is a bit more fiddly I did manage to scan at last.
