I have a pc, iMac and iPad. My printer and computers are on the same network, but I can't seem to "see" the printer on my iPad, and on the iMac it comes up as busy. How can I correct these problems?

Hi,
Firstly please check to see if your printer in the list:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
If YES, you can use these to fix/setup:
iPad: http://www.apple.com/support/ipad/assistant/airpri
iPhone: http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/airp
If NO you have to print using other apps (if applicable) such as
http://itunes.apple.com/au/app/hp-eprint/id2995316

HI,
Unlike a PC, any Apple device uses a Bonjour to communicate with teh printer through the local network.
Some routers may have the required protocol (Multicasting) disabled by default or may not support the protocol at all..
Please let me know your router brand and model in order to suggest any further step.
Shlomi

my router is an Amped wireless 600mW Smart router, model 10000 and I also have an Amped wireless Smart repeater, model 600mW SR10000. I bought the repeater because my house is large and the wireless signal from the router was not strong enough to reach the entire house. Even before I started using it I was unable to print from the iPad or iMac.
Hope you can help me with this problem. Also, is there a way I can print from my iPhone 4s?

Hi,
I believe the issues are both related with each other..
Both AirPrint and Mac uses multicasting which seems not to be supported by your router as much as I can see..
Take a look at the review below, which also confirmed by the manufactorer in the next post:
For those of you who print from your iPhone or iPad...This router does not support Apple Airprint. I confirmed the problem directly with Amped tech support. This renders the product useless as far as I am concerned.
http://www.amazon.com/Amped-Wireless-Wireless-N-Amplified-R10000/product-reviews/B005UBNH18?pageNumb ...
Try setting a direct connection with your iPhone and test if that work (I believe it will), it will clearly assure the problem to relies within the router..
Disconnect any ethernet cable from the printer
From the printer click the right Arrow and select Setup.
Select Network.
Select Restore Network Defaults.
From your iOS device go to Settings > Wi-Fi and select the printer SSID, it will include HP or E710..
Allow 3 minutes to connect and try printing.
If that works, I would suggest contacting the router service provider and verify its Multicasting support, if it is not supported by the router I afraid AirPrint will not work via the router, as well from the Mac there are some workarounds for printing but not for scanning...
