Installation difficulties with HP Photosmart D110 (2E77F5)

I have a MAC OSX 10.7.3, and the printer installation disc said it supported up to v10.6

It has been installed on two laptops, and has been registered, but each time you install it on another computer, it prompts you to go thru the registration process again.  I don't know if that could be what is causing the problems I am having.

Upon initial installaltion on the MAC OSX 10.7.3, the printer worked fine, but when I tried to scan, nothing worked.  So I downloaded the HP.LionInk_SW_v1...dmg, and installed it.

The scanner still didn't work.  I tried restarting the computer, restarting the printer, and now the computer can't connect with the printer.  When I open the HP utility, it tells me the device status  is unknown.  On the left, where it is listed under "Devices", it has a little red icon next to it.

So I tried to re-do the installation software, but can't get the printer to be recognized or come up.

Help!!!

How do I start from scratch?

Re: Installation difficulties with HP Photosmart D110 (2E77F5)

Download and install this: support.apple.com/kb/DL907

Reset the printing system:

- Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan
- Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
- Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Defualt tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it and wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.
